Scope of Position

With oversight and direction from the Client Services Manager (CSM) and Program Manager, the Workforce Career Counselor Specialist will be trained across anchor programs to continually assess and partner on overall case management needs and functions to include daily participant interactions, file maintenance, and data processes.


Essential Functions


· Provides support and meets regularly with the CSM and Program Managers concerning participant issues, activities, and the status of projects/targets/goals.

· Identifies and evaluates methods for improving program processes and services and makes recommendations to the CSM and Program Managers.

· Provides on-going training and day-to-day advisement to Workforce Career Counselors across all Lehigh Valley CareerLink locations.

· Addresses daily Workforce Career Counselor concerns regarding participant needs.

· Coordinates methods of outreach for participant engagement and securing required documentation.

· On-boards, trains, and mentors new Workforce Career Counselor hires in partnership with the CSM and Program Managers.

· Ensures the coordination of case management services across all CareerLink locations and partner agencies.

· Advises, reviews, and monitors on-going Workforce Career Counselor processes and initiatives via weekly check-ins and oversees continued implementation in partnership with the CSM and Program Managers.

· Works with a program caseload periodically and during transition periods to support program needs.

· Attends relevant meetings to include Career Development functional team meetings, Direct Service Team (DST) meetings and monthly reconciliations to support successful participant outcomes.

· Supports career advisement team in reviewing program files, record reconciliation, and quality assurance.

· Documents all pertinent data in the program system of record.

· Performs managerial support and acts as a liaison between management and staff as needed.


Education and Experience Requirement

· Two years of professional case management experience in social work, human services, or related field required

· Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills

· Clean driving record and reliable transportation

· Bachelor's degree is preferred or acceptable combination of experience and education
