As a Youth Career Advisor, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to youth program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement. This position requires an organized individual who can efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Successful Elements:

  • Provide individualized basic skills assessments and identify employment goals based on career interest, ability, and personal development considerations
  • Develop Individual Services Strategy in conjunction with youth
  • Assist youth in accomplishing the goals of the Individual Service Strategy
  • Coordinate and conduct program presentations to employers, educational facilities or similar entities
  • Provide off-site enrollment opportunities and support with educational facilities and/or employers
  • Provide comprehensive case management and follow-up to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met
  • Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies as needed
  • Establish detailed documentation of all client records to maintain organized database and generate all project reports as needed
  • Other opportunities as available

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, education, training, human resources, or related area is preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively as a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation is required
