Title: Placement Coach
Classification: Non-Exempt
Scope of Position:
• Provide one-on-one and group assistance to program participants. This may include job matching, providing job leads,
advocating for participants and programming to employers, job coaching participants prior to earning employment and during
follow-up, resume critique, facilitating workshops and activities, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Participant Centered Duties:
• Communicate new job openings to participants as received from employers and the Business Services Team
• Meet with job ready participants regularly to review career goals and provide job leads
• Match participants with job openings and advocate directly to employers for participants
• Act as a liaison between program participants and Career Advisors and communicate with Career Advisors to ensure referrals
are being matched to employers’ needs
• Provide the Business Services Team with recommendations for incoming job leads
• Recruit and build relationships with community-based organizations and local employers in an effort to identify them as potential
employer referrals
• Collaborate regularly with career advisors to share updates and receive new referrals of candidates who are job ready and
seeking job leads
• Collaborate weekly with Business Service Representative to identify new job leads and discuss job lead pool and current
placement needs
• Work toward achieving a monthly placement goal and other program benchmarks
Other and Community Partnerships:
• Attend meetings/trainings and community events outside the center (on occasion evenings and weekends are required)
• Assist with special projects and events as assigned to support EDSI
• Liaison with government agencies, local businesses, and community resources

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent related experience
• Prior experience in sales, a customer contact job and/or customer service
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, other computer programs and data entry
• Experience in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude; excellent communication
and problem solving skills
• Ability to gather and synthesize information from a wide variety of people and sources
• Access to reliable transportation, valid Class C License with acceptable auto insurance, and ability and willingness to travel
within Lackawanna County
• Solid organizational and time management skills
• Detail oriented and accurate with deadline sensitive goals and objectives
• Above-average interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to deal with difficult customers and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to maintain some level of flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
Preferred:
• Experience conducting workshops/orientations and/or public speaking
• Knowledge of community employers and community partners
• Experience working with unemployed, underemployed, displaced workers, individuals with barriers or other economicallydisadvantaged
populations
