Scope of Position:

The Digital Media Producer is part of the Good Jobs Challenge (GJC) Communications Team and supports the grant communication needs across the Southeastern PA workforce region, focusing on audiences of job seeker, employer, and GJC stakeholders. The GJC Communications work focuses on regional engagement, producing and implementing collateral materials, and building template documents for consistent branding and messaging across counties and vested audiences. The Digital Media Producer will collaborate on the development of a targeted outreach campaign to increase GJC visibility, implement critical components of that plan, and consistently disseminate GJC regional and backbone organization updates to regional partners and stakeholders. Outreach campaigns, branding/collateral development, supporting the direct recruitment of job seekers, and managing the GJC Resource Hub are all scope elements for this role. This role will work collaboratively within the communications team, consisting of a Project Manager and Communication Specialists, along with the funder and GJC Steering Committee and GJC Backbone Organizations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with PhilaWorks, the GJC Steering Committee, and the Communications Team to identify needs, values, and how communications will support GJC success
  • Connect with regional representatives to gather program news and updates for inclusion in company newsletter, website and social media
  • Received feedback from regional leaders to consistently improve and evolve communications for increased effectiveness, efficiency, and impact
  • Prepare and design outreach/marketing material for Good Jobs Challenge programs, services, and informational updates using a creative and innovative approach, and imbedding priorities and perspectives from the GCJ Steering Committee
  • Create template documentation for standardization of GJC messaging across sectors and counties
  • Create, develop, publish, and maintain content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms and google pages as approved
    • Includes monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and likes in Hootsuite
    • May include active work in other platforms such as blogs, GJC website, newsletters, and special communication initiatives
  • Develop success story materials, which includes scheduling and meeting with employers, job seekers, and stakeholders, capturing video/photo/narrative content on each story, producing professional quality videos and publishing stories on appropriate platforms
  • Prepare and design presentations and demonstrate ability to present to GCJ Steering Committee and other vested audiences
  • Meet and interface with Philadelphia Works Communications Team for alignment of GJC priorities with wider workforce ecosystem
  • Support in the development and implementation of a job seeker outreach campaign:
    • Plan and execute social media promotion
    • Create outreach material
    • Disseminate digital outreach material
    • Coordinate physical outreach material dissemination with workforce partners in direct in-person engagement with job seekers
    • Partner with support center for outreach phone and text campaigns
    • Coordinate up-to-date contact lists
    • Provide outreach metrics at debrief meetings
  • Weekend, evening, and alternative hours are sometimes mandatory to address the needs of photography and videography capture at events such as:
    • Job fairs and hiring events
    • Media engagement and public relations (PR)
    • Workforce campaigns/initiatives (national, state, local)
    • High visibility/coordinated recruitment
  • Implement project management skills, tools, and methods to drive GJC initiatives and positive outcomes
  • Carry out work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Demonstrate fluid approach to work and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize multiple requests and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Edit and proofread content created by others for GJC use
  • Collaborate with marketing consultants to produce copy for advertisements or articles

Qualifications

Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, public relations, communications, or related area and 3+ years of professional experience
  • Excellent project management, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments, teams, and partners.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in digital media, and the ability to provide strategic guidance on how to leverage new tools and platforms to reach the target audience.
  • Working knowledge of Canva, Constant Contact, Mailchimp and Scanova, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Photoshop
  • Exceptional creative content development skills for multiple social media platforms, blogging, and web copy
  • Advanced social media skills, including SEO, content editorial management, and analytics.
  • Intermediate level in MS Office
  • Intermediate level in digital video and photo editing software
  • Experience with print marketing
  • Demonstrate high level of editorial standards to ensure accuracy and relevancy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Online portfolio required
  • Position requires occasional travel in the Greater Philadelphia area including surrounding Pennsylvania counties
  • Valid Drivers License and safe driving record
