· Maintain a classroom conducive to learning

· Facilitate learning and empower customers to take ownership of the learning process

· Create challenging and engaging learning opportunities

· Deliver job readiness and life skills workshops, and Career Accelerator Programs

· Create motivational learning environment

· Model positive and professional behavior

Responsibilities

· Establishing clear expectations and encouraging client accountability

· Implementing a structure and plan consistent with prescribed curriculum goals

· Maintaining an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths

· Implement quality instructional practices

· Work with administration and staff at the Delaware County Prison

· Attend staff training at George W Hill Training and maintain professional behavior consistent with training

· Work directly in the Delaware County Prison, George W Hill Correctional Facility

· Provide support to the PA CareerLink and EDSI offices

· Provide a variety of instruction methods to encourage attention and interest

· Utilize materials and activities to respond to differences in learning styles

· Demonstrate an awareness and commitment to the balance of individual and group needs

· Complete identified curriculum tasks including job readiness, portfolio documentation and preparation for interviewing

· Report daily to the George W Hill Correctional facility to support customers onsite

· Demonstrate positive, pro-social interactions with clients, staff, and community representatives

· Use written and spoken language adequately

· Use language reflective of commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence

· Model respect and professionalism across all situations

· Demonstrate allegiance to policies, procedures and expectations of EDSI

· Maintain timely and complete documentation, as prescribed

· Participate in required program and community meetings

· Collaborate effectively, and communicate proactively with staff and clients

· Other opportunities as available

Qualifications

· Experience in training, education or career development

· Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude

· Experience in a team-oriented environment

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, education, training, human resources, liberal arts or related area is preferred

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
