Scope of Position

The  Career Services Navigator position assists in center programs, customer outreach and engagement, virtual and in-person workshops, develops community organizations and partner relationships, referrals, and community resources to improve customer experience to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.  Support staff according to the needs of the Center.  Maintain a thorough understanding of all programmatic processes, staff roles, and funding sources in order to provide excellent customer service delivery.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Maintain knowledge of Workforce Development as it applies to the PA CareerLink® Montgomery County and its customers
  • Schedule and conduct onsite/offsite presentations/workshops with organizations to promote CareerLink® services
  • Monitor, support, and track customer progress and outcomes in center programs through reports to the Deputy Program Manager
  • Network and collaborate with community organizations to find supportive services for customers to address barriers to employment and education
  • Regularly update the Support Resource Guide with relevant and useful resources that support job seekers in gaining employment
  • Perform outreach and follow-up services to customers/event attendees to ensure continuation of service delivery
  • Collaborate with the Media and Compliance coordinator to discuss new community partnerships that can support comprehensive service delivery
  • Assist with all administrative duties related to PA CareerLink® Montgomery County in-person and virtual workshops including but not limited to creating the event calendar, supporting registration, emailing virtual links and in-person workshop reminders, monitoring and tracking attendance, and addressing customer questions.
  • Coordinate all functions of PA CareerLink® Montgomery County computer classes including customer registration, communicating with workshop instructors, and tracking attendance
  • Provide support and relief coverage as needed for the PA CareerLink® Administrative Assistant at the reception desk and for staff in the Career Resource Center (CRC)

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge and experience in providing career exploration preferred
  • Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Should be able to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required
  • Must be available to travel to community based events and provide outreach to job seekers
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile
  • Bilingual (Spanish), a plus
