Job Title: Career Services Manager 

Scope of Position: The Career Services Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating career development initiatives within the American Job Center locations. The Career Services Managers leads a team dedicated to supporting individuals in achieving their career goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing career services programs, fostering connections with employers, and facilitating networking opportunities for students or clients. Work with internal and external partners to enhance career readiness and job placement outcomes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Oversee assigned team at the American Job Centers in the North Central Region
  • Motivate team to ensure quality service is provided
  • Ensure that quality service is provided to interpret customer’s assessments, as well as their job skills in order to achieve employment outcomes.
  • Analyze and understand Labor Market Information
  • Interpret performance data and set achievable outcomes for their teams and to pivot when there are issues.
  • Interpret Labor Market Index information and share expectations with teams
  • Process, review and report performance data
  • Set achievable outcomes for their teams and support their tasks to achieve their goals
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of an office with a variety of personality types and job functions to ensure that operations are effectively serving customers and partners.
  • Report results to a variety of audiences, including internal leadership and funder partners.
  • Case conference with Career Advisor and share feedback about jobseekers
  • Support development of employer marketing campaign plans using AJC jobseeker criteria
  • Report directly to Assistant Director and communicate performance, success, and challenges during weekly check-ins
  • Partner with, build, and maintain positive working relationships with DOL, CWP, and other appropriate agencies
  • Create and maintain reports regarding performance and outcomes
  • Prepare and present performance updates to internal leadership and external funder partners
  • The ability to monitor team performance and report results to a variety of audiences, including internal leadership and funder partners.
  • Perform performance reviews and appraisals for team members and provide feedback and guidance.

    • Achieve 100% of retention cases each quarter.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Required
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in career services, human resources, or related fields.
  • Experience managing and motivating teams, setting goals, and providing guidance and support to team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of career development theories, job market trends, and employment strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills: communicate clearly, listen actively, and convey information and feedback effectively. among team members. The Career Services Manager should be able to

  • Experience in program development and implementation to meet the career services goals of the organization.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for report generation and data analysis.
