Overview

Salary $75,000-85,000 year

Scope of Position

  • To fully plan, manage, and evaluate specialized and customized training projects
  • To manage and support Innovative Learning Solutions teams

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Oversee all phases of training projects in line with EDSI and ILS department strategic goals including planning, designing, revising, developing, and executing
  • Apply technical expertise in instructional design, e-learning, or training facilitation to organize, create, prepare, and manage project plans
  • Create, monitor, adjust, and evaluate project budgets
  • Work with organizational leadership to guide strategic planning and establish ILS team priorities
  • Collaborate to create systems and processes for ILS departmental efficiency
  • Support leadership through issue identification, and recommend and implement solutions for complex problems
  • Analyze training needs by conducting in-depth surveys, interviews, and consultations with management to develop customized, high-level, complex curriculum solutions
  • Evaluate training materials including outlines, texts, and handouts that best match the overall training vision and support learning objectives
  • Assign instructional designers and instructional specialists to projects according to strengths and specialized knowledge
  • Provide quality control for curriculum and instruction ensuring staff are providing the highest level of service, standardization, consistency, and internal quality across projects and teams
  • Evaluate work and provide consistent feedback to the ILS team to guide and support high-quality standards
  • Use quality assurance reviews as opportunities to coach staff, correct issues, and build skill and capacity
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external customer relationships providing guidance and support to ensure that projects are meeting established timelines and are on budget
  • Establish training project evaluation metrics and analysis frameworks
  • Analyze and report evaluation data to provide insight into training or project effectiveness, guide continuous improvement, and inform future department policies or procedures
  • Provide technical or subject area leadership within ILS teams, across departments and company-wide
  • Coach, mentor, and advise ILS teams in promoting a culture of growth, innovation, and development
  • Frame all communication in ways that message the promotion of company core values, encouragement of innovation, and importance of change
  • Train new ILS team members
  • Support team members’ ongoing professional development through guided opportunities
  • Lead and evaluate internal ILS team training programs, orientation, and personnel development
  • Perform all HR management tasks for ILS teams including approving time sheets, processing time off requests, and completing performance reviews
  • Encourage an atmosphere of collaboration across departments and with customers
  • Adapt to changes quickly and problem solve proactively and collaboratively
  • Coach and support staff through operational changes and HR concerns
  • Conduct market research to identify business opportunities and potential growth opportunities
  • Support business development and consulting teams in networking, pre-sales meetings, and cross-selling products or services
  • Write proposals, grant narratives, final project reports, and other documents as requested
  • Research emerging trends, new technologies, and techniques to update the current training curriculum and maintain a competitive industry edge
  • Lead the identification of new and innovative learning technologies

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in instructional design or high-level facilitation (Senior Instructional Designer or Senior Instructional Specialist roles)
  • Extensive project planning and project management experience required
  • High level of comfort and proficiency using Learning Management Software (LMS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, training, human services, or related area is required
  • In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and instructional best practices including multi-modality, strength-based educational approaches, group and individual instructional strategies, and training design
  • Ability to lead teams and individuals effectively
  • Must have experience using e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline 360, RISE, Powtoon, Doodly, etc.), Keywe/Canvas, and other technology-based training tools
  • A valid driver's license is required
