Title: Business Services Representative
Scope of Position
Build business relationships with employers aligned with Lackawanna County Workforce Development Board
(WDB) industry sectors. Link job seekers with employers via Career Advisors. Support outreach efforts through
digital marketing and social media platforms to promote PA CareerLink services online.
Essential Functions
• Refer new employers to Business Services Team (BST) Lead
• Contact employers by phone, referral or in person to schedule face-to-face meetings
• Introduce employer to CareerLink® services and available training programs during initial employer
visit
• Develop a network for potential business leads and reconnect employers who no longer utilize
services
• Act as an ambassador and concierge to the business community, developing and maintaining
relationships with Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development and other business-oriented
groups
• Develop and distribute electronic/paper outreach materials in collaboration with the CareerLink®
Site Supervisor and CareerLink® partners, according to Lackawanna County WDB policies
• Generate new and recurring job openings, including those generated by serving the incumbent
workforce
• Support employers in the use of Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) and PA
CareerLink websites, and assist with solutions to other needs
• Identify employer positions listed on the regional target list
• Train employers to use the job order system and explain how to input job orders
• Meet with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to build Job Task Analysis (JTA)
• Utilize Skilldex to complete JTAs
• Enter all employer information and employer contacts into appropriate systems and monitor
employer activities
• Interface with other employer company departments and employees
• Provide target estimates or goals and periodic progress reports
• Represent EDSI at conferences, meetings and targeted social functions as required
• Meet performance criteria on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
• Post and maintain job orders in CWDS, enter employer services and open new business folders
• Set up recurrent job fairs
• Initiate and promote the On-The-Job (OJT) Training Program with employers. Complete all required
paperwork for the OJT.
• Create and distribute written and graphic content on behalf of the PA CareerLink in the form of
email newsletters, fliers and various social media messages
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree with marketing, sales and customer service experience
• Ability to make presentations to large groups of people
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Experience in Graphic Design, Web Design and Social Media Platforms is preferred
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record required
