Overview

Salary $45,000 year

Scope of Position: Provide excellent customer-centered services to provide career support in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment, training, and career advancement.

 

Responsibilities

· Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with customers to aid in the introduction of CareerLink services, workshops, partners, and training opportunities

· Assist customers in registration, job search preparation, workshop registration, and resumes using PA CareerLink® website

· Accurately review, evaluate, and complete required documentation for WIOA registration eligibility

· Complete necessary WIOA data entry requirements on CWDS

· Maintain participant files in accordance with state and local regulations

· Provide follow-up activities, ensuring positive outcomes and goals are being met according to program guidelines

· Provide “staff-assisted job search” services in the form of career guidance, job leads, and current labor market information

· Work closely with and refer participants to the Business Services Team (BST) for employment opportunities

· Be knowledgeable of county resources to assist customers with barriers

· Split time between CareerLink offices in Media and Chester City

· Offer pre-enrollment career advising to PA CareerLink® walk-ins as scheduled by the Site Administrator

· Educate job seekers about local Labor Market Information (LMI) related to career pathways

· Provide financial literacy guidance related to wages and participants’ career goals

· Manage a caseload of a maximum of 50 new job seekers per year, plus 50 participants in a 12-month period of follow-up

· Create and maintain an Individual Employment Plan (IEP) for job seekers

· Assess participants’ existing skills, aptitudes, and goals

· Collaborate with Case Manager to identify and remediate participants’ barriers to success

· Maintain case notes following local policies in the system of record

· Guide participants through the IFR process to evaluate occupational training opportunities

· Advocate for participants in case review meetings including ITA committee review, match meetings, or DST meetings

· Ensure participants are aware of and participate in hiring events

· Provide follow-up services to participants for 12 months after exit

· Other opportunities as available

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in business, education, human services, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the workforce development field

· Experience in providing career development assistance

· Previous case management experience

· Must have notable experience in team-oriented environment

· Should be able to converse with a wide range of clients and professionals while demonstrating a positive professional attitude

· Knowledge and understanding of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act

· Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

· Valid driver’s license
