A WIOA Intake Specialist, you will provide assistance and support in all areas related to assisting case managers who are working with clients towards gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement. This position acts as a liaison between case managers and program participants. Intake Specialists match incoming clients with appointments and next steps in order to move them forward in the enrollment process; all while providing an excellent customer experience and maintaining compliance with Federal, State, and local policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provide consistent and comprehensive assistance to case managers and follow-up to ensure movement through the enrollment process. This can include but is not limited to:
    • Determine WIOA AD/DW eligibility requirements
    • Schedule appointments for orientation, workshops, and work keys
    • Upload all required documentation for case managers
    • Assist in eliminating barriers to get customers into the enrollment process
    • Complete and submit accurate participant referrals and appointments
    • Address participant employment needs through interviews, resumes, job searching
    • Work with the team to develop stronger participant flows
    • Work through customer issues and concerns with the enrollment process
    • Work with all community partners and agencies to offer links to employment and training services
    • Effectively use technology to conduct business both in person and virtually as client needs dictate
  • Work in collaboration with other Workforce Development partners, community partners and WIOA required partners to ensure effective communication, seamless service integration, and streamlined access to the Job Center resources for clients and employers.
  • Market and promote all services under EDSI-related grants through Missouri Job Centers
  • Learn and implement Federal, State, and local policies and procedures related to EDSI, WIOA, and other contracted grants. Cross-train for other grants based on funder direction.
  • Contact participants by phone, referral, or in-person to schedule face-to-face meetings
  • Introduce participants to Missouri Job Center services and available training programs
  • Assist with outreach and providing services to targeted populations, as appropriate
  • Review participant employment skills and match with potential enrollment steps
  • Represent EDSI at conferences, meetings, and targeted social functions as required.
  • Work under the guidance of supervisor to implement the regional vision

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Customer Service or Case Management experience, WIOA experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
  • Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
