We are seeking compassionate and team-oriented individuals to join our spirited team.

 

As a Career Navigator, you will provide career coaching and guidance to participants and direct them to the appropriate training/job opportunities and services

Responsibilities

Successful Elements:

  • Meet with participants to discuss short-term and long-term career goals and address any employment barriers
  • Utilize industry-specific assessment tools to determine next steps
  • Provide career guidance and support to participants in-person and via telephone
  • Work with participants to co-create service plans that include a combination of job search assistance, training and internship opportunities
  • Coordinate and schedule participants for internship interviews, training enrollments and appointments
  • Provide a variety of community resources for participants requiring additional services
  • Maintain knowledge of employment opportunities and training programs to make accurate assessments and referrals
  • Discuss participants’ current schedules for education, work experience or community service experience, child care, transportation and supportive services
  • Complete data entry in multiple databases
  • Communicate with employed participants to adjust to the demands of the workplace and discuss achievements. This includes developing problem-solving strategies to ensure they succeed in a new workplace environment.
  • Provide retention services that include at a minimum, monthly check-ins with participants who have obtained employment
  • Collect, scan and organize client records for file storage

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Experienced in case management, career coaching or social work
  • Experienced in handling high volume client traffic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • Must be bilingual (Spanish)

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
