Title:  Recovery Through Work Facilitator

Classification: Non-Exempt

 

Scope of Position

  • Maintain a classroom conducive to learning
  • Model positive and professional behavior
  • Deliver workshops in a cohort setting with specific awareness and engagement strategies for individuals who are in addiction recovery
  • Offer one-on-one case management services to those in the workshop cohort
  • Collaborate with Merakey and other EDSI teams for supporting activities and job and/or training placement
  • Assist job seekers with creating resumes
  • Communicate routinely with Merakey with program data and updates as requested

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning through:
    • Establishing clear expectations and encouraging client accountability
    • Implementing a structure and plan consistent with prescribed curriculum goals
    • Maintaining an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths
  • Implement quality instructional practices
    • Vary methods of instruction to encourage attention and interest
    • Utilize materials and activities to respond to differences in learning styles
    • Facilitate active learning
    • Demonstrate an awareness and commitment to the balance of individual and group needs
    • Complete identified curriculum tasks including job readiness, portfolio documentation and preparation for interviewing
    • Utilize assessment tools such as AcuMax and Skilldex when appropriate to support class instruction
  • Support case management services through identified data system of record and in close collaboration with Career Navigator
  • Model positive and professional behavior
    • Demonstrate positive, pro-social interactions with clients, staff and community representatives
  • Use written and spoken language adequately
  • Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
  • Model respect and professionalism in all situations
  • Demonstrate allegiance to the policies, procedures and expectations of EDSI as well as partner agency
    • Maintain timely and complete documentation, as prescribed
  • Participate in required program and community meetings
  • Collaborate effectively and communicate proactively with staff and clients
  • Complete weekly direct reporting on program data metrics

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Experience in training, education or career development
  • Knowledge of addiction and recovery services is highly preferred
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work with little supervision and demonstrate strong initiative and problem solving
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, education, training, human resources, liberal arts or related area is preferred
  • Ability to work both remotely and travel for in-person services
