As Career Advisor, you will guide individuals through the process of securing employment by assessing their skills, interests, and goals. The Career Advisor works collaboratively with the Business Services Team to connect job ready customers to available employment opportunities. Ongoing support is provided to customers by sharing resources and additional training to support their employment goals.

 

Our team is growing as we enhance our services throughout the community! At the American Job Center, our team of career advisors, job developers and business services consultants have come together to provide services to assist jobseekers in their career endeavors.

Responsibilities

Successful Elements:

  • Guide jobseekers through preparation of individual employment plans based on their specific occupational goals
  • Provide customers with advanced coaching on resumes, online presence, interview preparation, post interview feedback, job search techniques and sources
  • Maintain current on industry specific knowledge of current hiring practices
  • Provide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up and retention services, ensuring that post-placement contacts are made as required by specific contract, accommodating customer work schedules
  • Partner with and maintain open communication with Case Managers and Facilitator

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

  • Strong ability to engage in meaningful advising conversations with customers, accurately identifying their needs and aligning them with their skills and experience
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Labor Market Index data, particularly in relation to high-growth career pathways and emerging job sectors
  • Experience in hiring, recruiting and staffing
  • Ability to interpret customer’s career pathway assessments and review the results with customer in a way that they will understand their internal wiring
  • Experience working with customers of varying skills, experiences, and diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and managing a case load of clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data entry with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for report generation and data analysis

  • Bachelor's Degree
