Employer Outreach Specialist

 Salary: $48,000-50,000/year

Scope of Position:

Act as a liaison between local employers and program participants. Market PA CareerLink^® services to the Lancaster County business community

Essential Functions:

• Establish working relationships with local employers; interact with personnel and/or manager responsible for the hiring of new employees
• Review participant employment skills and match with active positions in the PA CareerLink^® system
• Assist with EARN classroom activities as needed
• Conduct mock interviews with participants
• Apply active listening techniques, ask effective questions and document responses with employers
• Place EARN participants into employment
• Report market intelligence and placement numbers to Program Manager weekly
• Identify and place individuals into traditional OJT opportunities
• Develop a network for potential business leads
• Analyze and understand current labor market information
• Represent EDSI/PA CareerLink^® at conferences, meetings and selected social functions
• Attend chamber events and other economic gatherings as necessary
• Follow up with EDSI/PA CareerLink^® employees to ensure that client expectations are met
• Meet performance criteria on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
• Organize and attend job fairs and onsite and offsite recruitment events
• Other opportunities as available

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• Marketing and sales experience preferred
• Customer service experience required
• Must be comfortable making presentations to large groups of people
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision     
• Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
