Are you goal driven? Then the TANF Youth Career Advisor position is for you! We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.
Responsible for active recruitment of youth to NWPA Job Connect. Manages the youth eligibility and enrollment process, program orientation, and career and educational counseling services during the school year and summer season.
• Develop and maintain working and collaborative relationships with assigned high schools
in Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Venango and Warren counties
• Engage in relevant recruitment strategies, including and not limited to social media, inperson, and messaging to youth, school staff, and parents/caregivers
• Conduct eligibility, intake, and orientation services for interested youth
• Assess youth’s family and personal development needs, workplace skills, and education
and career goals to gain a deep understanding of their social and internal motivators
• Develop and update a customized service plan to align with participant employment and
training goals, in-line with their high school educational goals, if appropriate
• Using professional one-on-one work and rapport development; provide barrier mitigation
• Collaborate with existing support systems, facilitate referrals, and follow up with
appropriate community service, or social service agencies, when needed
• Provide support services when appropriate and not accessible through other providers
• Counsel, motivate, and encourage assigned caseload of participants to develop and guide
through a customized career pathway and work experience opportunities
• Develop and adapt innovative services and delivery methods to meet the participant
where they are located to facilitate both virtual and in-person services
• Maintain organized tracking of clients by documenting all participant interactions, contacts,
activities, case notes, and files to ensure that regularly scheduled contacts are made as
required
• Oversee the participants’ case and ensure contract regulations are being adhered to;
ensure maintenance of customer program file and records, and document any course of
action or service delivery
• Track and reach or exceed weekly and quarterly goals of recruitment, enrollment, and
progress with employability skill growth through workshops and work experience
• Collect survey data at end of work experience and use this feedback loop for program
improvement and identification of success stories
• Bachelor’s degree in social services, counseling, education, or a similar degree preferred
with experience in counseling youth
• Case management experience required
• Experience in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive
professional attitude; excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, other computer programs, and data entry
• Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract, or contractor require
• A valid driver's license & clean driving record required
