Overview

Salary $60,000 year

The Project Specialist will receive guidance and direction from the Youth Programmanager on any newly designated special projects and/or special initiatives under the WIOA Youth
Program. The Project Specialist is responsible for collaboration with funders, stakeholders, and customers to understand the vision and objectives of each special project and initiative on the needed services. The project specialist will utilize project management tools and data tracking to capture customer engagement, efforts, and outcomes specific to each project or initiative.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive, high-performing culture by demonstrating EDSI’s core values
• Work directly with the local Youth Program EDSI teams and funder in the implementation and
planning of special projects and initiatives
• Liaise with funder, employer, and other partner stakeholders to define project requirements, scope
and objectives, and review ongoing outcomes
• Maintain a positive partnership with funders by attending meetings, engaging in proactive
communication, discussing best practices, presenting program innovations
• Collaborate with Youth Program Manager on the budget (if applicable), deliverables, and strategy
of each project or initiative
• Schedule one-to-one meetings with leadership to ensure that all youth program goals are met or
exceeded
• Provide onsite support to the youth program to ensure that case files, including both physical and
electronic, are tracked and audited
• Communicate regional best practices that will support the WIOA Title I Youth program
• Support the organization of planning youth workshops for the region
• Deliver the outreach, screening, case management, job matching, and workshop facilitation
services specific to the scope of work
• Serve as a back-up and support to each EDSI staff member assigned to the project
• Monitor project progress and proactively address any changes in project plan
• Responsible for data tracking of every service provided and utilization of the state system of record
• Demonstrate fluid approach to work and actively be part of continuous improvement and training
• Travel is required (up to 50%)
• Assist Youth Program Manager with special projects that arise from funder requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
• Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
• Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
• Prior experience in case management, facilitation, and project management preferred
• Strong interpersonal and servant leadership skills required
• Clean driving record & valid Driver’s License required
• Excellent writing and proofing skills and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
