Overview

Salary $65,000 year

The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and evaluating educational workshops and learning opportunities for youth as it relates to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCCD). This role focuses on violence prevention, intervention, and career readiness, supporting up to 12 youth per session. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development, trauma-informed care, and restorative practices, and will use evidence-based curricula to foster personal growth and skill-building.

Responsibilities

· Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for youth.

· Track attendance, participation, and progress of youth participants.

· Establish a clear working relationship with the leaders and staff at the Chester County Youth Center

· Work through challenges associated with scheduling workshops and supporting youth residing at the Youth Center

· Provide a community-based approach to preventing delinquency by identifying and addressing risk and protective factors

· Have the ability to shift work environment, hours, and responsibilities quickly to ensure youth are supported and provided the services they need.

· Work with the leadership team at the CCIU and EDSI to establish a plan for curriculum development and programming

· Collaborate with facility staff, case managers, and external partners to ensure program alignment and support.

· Facilitate structured workshops using the PACTT Fillable Starter Kit Worksheets and CCYC curriculum components.

· Deliver training in:

· My Caert (career and technical education)

· Thinking for Change (cognitive behavioral therapy)

· Z Space VR/AR (career exploration and readiness)

· Provide certification opportunities in:

· PennDot Flagger

· MACS 609 (Mobile Air Conditioning Society)

· Pet CPR/First Aid (American Red Cross)

· CPR/First Aid (National CPR Foundation)

· Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports on program outcomes.

· Adapt curriculum delivery to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of youth.

· Promote self-sufficiency, accountability, and positive behavioral change.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

· Minimum of 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth or in juvenile justice settings.

· Strong facilitation and classroom management skills.

· Ability to work independently and with the CCIU and EDSI teams.

· Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and restorative justice principles.

· Certification or willingness to become certified in the listed training programs.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Background clearance and security clearance required for work in detention facilities.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with virtual/augmented reality educational tools.

· Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

· Knowledge of Chester County youth services and community resources.

Work Environment:

· On-site at the PCCCD facility.

· Requires flexibility in scheduling to meet program needs.

· May involve occasional evening or weekend hours.

· A valid driver's license is required
