Overview

Work-Based Learning Coordinator

Non Exempt

Salary: $48,000-50,000 year

 

Scope of Position:

Manage a caseload of youth and coordinate services that develop into work-based
learning opportunities. Support business relationships for training opportunities with Clarion,
Crawford, Erie, Forest, Venango and Warren county employers aligned with industry sectors,
particularly as they pertain to Work Experience (WEX) and On-the-Job Training (OJT). Coordinate
activities that promote career pathways for young adults

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
• Provide individualized basic skills assessment and identify employment goals based on
career interest, ability, and personal development considerations
• Provide comprehensive case management and follow up to ensure positive outcomes and
goals are met as required by the contract
• Introduce employers to services and available training programs during initial employer
visit and promote OJT and WEX opportunities and incentives
• Conduct onsite visits with youth active in work-based learning opportunities to support the
retention of employed youth
• Develop career opportunities for youth
• Develop a network for potential business leads and reconnect employers who no longer
utilize services
• Act as an ambassador and concierge to the business community, developing and
maintaining relationships with Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development, and
other business-oriented groups
• Develop and distribute electronic/paper outreach materials in collaboration with NWPA
Job Connect partners
• Post and maintain job orders in the system, enter employer services, and open new
business folders
• Support with hiring events
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Ability to prioritize tasks and document contacts
• Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
• Ability to make presentations to large groups of people
• Experience working with disconnected youth and young adults
• Sales or marketing experience required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Valid Driver’s License and an insured automobile are required- decent driver's record
