Scope of Position:

  • This position provides an array of intake, eligibility, orientation, outreach, and case management services in Wilkes Barre/Luzerne County
  • To provide support and assistance to program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement
  • Due to the dynamics of working with individuals, this position necessitates an individual who is comfortable working in an environment that is constantly evolving
  • This position requires an organized individual who can efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate intake and orientation with jobseekers and make initial referrals to help resolve issues that may impede successful job placement
  • Counsel, motivate, and encourage jobseekers in advancing employment and training goals
  • Reach monthly and quarterly goals
  • Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with participants during outreach/intake 
  • Perform proactive outreach and follow-up with candidate pipeline to ensure successful program engagement to include initial appointment reminder calls, rescheduling of missed appointments, outreach to disengaged participants, and assistance with securing needed documentation
  • Conduct timely, accurate, and complete eligibility determination for program applicants
  • Ensure 100% eligibility verification of all program applicants prior to registration/enrollment
  • Assist staff in communicating eligibility criteria, including packet/application submission, and income verification
  • Develop, demonstrate, and maintain programmatic knowledge and competency in the above areas by utilizing internal and external policy, as well as pertinent law, regulations, and legislation
  • Conduct partner orientations on program eligibility requirements and services.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete data input for enrollments
  • Communicate information gathered in intake meetings with appropriate staff
  • Facilitate program orientation sessions to create a motivating, informative, and supportive transition to program enrollments
  • Document all participant contacts and activities in case notes and ensure that contacts are made as required
  • Provide backup to Career Resource Coordinator, Welcome Staff, and Front Desk Staff
  • Meet multiple, concurrent deadlines

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, document visits and contacts, and maintain flexibility
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Customer service experience required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) skills required
