Overview

Title: HGCY Facilitator

Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary:   $55,000 year

 

Scope of Position:

The Houston Gulf Coast Youth Facilitator will lead workshops and training sessions on workforce readiness, job search strategies, and professional development topics to equip jobseekers with essential skills. This position will engage participants in online and technology-based learning, as well as provide user management, tracking and reporting, and support curriculum enhancements and improvements.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning through:
    • Establishing clear expectations and encouraging customer accountability
    • Implementing a structure and plan consistent with prescribed curriculum goals
    • Maintaining an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths
  • Model positive and professional behavior
    • Demonstrate positive, pro-social interactions with customers, staff, and community representatives
    • Use written and spoken language effectively
    • Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
    • Model respect and professionalism in all situations
  • Support youth customers in online course registration and troubleshooting
  • Assist youth customers with logging in, registration, and any questions
  • Record youth customer services and track use of online programs
  • Recommend technical enhancements and additional matrices to current curricula
  • Update online training guides and website
  • Develop materials, manuals, tests, and related training aids
  • Facilitate orientation sessions
  • Other opportunities as available

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in training, education, or career development
  • Experience in e-learning design and utilizing technology related resources to foster learning
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of best practices in designing and developing instructional courses, webinars, workshops, and online programs
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite and other required locations
