Overview

Title: Youth Programs Lead

Status: Exempt

Salary:  $64,000 year

Scope of Position: Provide support and improve In-School and Out-of-School youth operations, performance and customer engagement by providing leadership and direction to program staff, as well as all Youth discretionary grants. Ensure excellent customer service. Follow contract policies and ensure outcomes are obtained. Assist in career planning, job placement and high school equivalency activities for youth participants. 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Work with managerial and direct staff to ensure that customer flow, service delivery and data management are efficient and effective
  • Oversee the participants’ case management files and ensure contract regulations are being adhered to
  • Provide instruction in GED preparation, job search skills, life skills and/or other career exploration activities, as needed
  • Administer assessment instruments and compile participant assessment data
  • Facilitate group learning activities and workshops in a creative and innovative manner
  • Ensure participants gain necessary information to successfully obtain a GED (Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading/Language Arts)
  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring
  • Strategically facilitate successful job placement services
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests from the funder
  • Evaluate performance with respect to contract obligations and draft quarterly team goals
  • Identify strategies for innovative services at MoJobs Center
  • Analyze and understand labor market information
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, state and local youth policies and procedures
  • Analyze performance, and compile and submit reports for the funding agency and EDSI
  • Ensure that staff meets performance goals as outlined in the contract and that resources are being utilized appropriately
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff and conduct staff development as needed
  • Attend required meetings and apprise staff of discussions held at these meetings
  • Develop continuous improvement process flows and program documentation

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree or better in business, education, human services or related area is required
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude; excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to gather and synthesize information from a wide variety of people and sources
  • At least three years of professional experience, including one year of management or supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Current and Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
