Are you goal driven? Then the Career Planner position is for you! We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.
Provide career coaching and case management for participating students at an assigned high school in Macomb County. Responsible for the eligibility and enrollment process, program orientation, and career and educational counseling services during the school year and summer season.
The position is full-time, year-round employment, located at Community High School and will maintain office hours on campus in accordance with the school district's calendar. One work-from-home day per week is permitted.
· Conduct eligibility, intake, and orientation services for interested youth
· Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment
· Engage in relevant recruitment strategies and messaging to youth, school staff, and parents/caregivers as needed
· Oversee participant activities and assist with workshop schedules
· Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up
· Provide mentorship, advocacy, and academic support for participants
· Provide referrals to appropriate community resources or social service agencies when needed
· Maintain organized database of participants
· Track and reach or exceed weekly and quarterly goals of recruitment, enrollment, and progress with employability skill growth
· Document all participant contacts and activities in case notes
· Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies
· Maintain participant files as specified by contractor
· Develop and update a customized service plan to align with participant employment and training goals, in line with their high school educational goals, if appropriate
· Ensure participants follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agency
· Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract
· Work with school officials, counselors, community partners, technology centers, and community colleges to arrange career exploration opportunities
· Other opportunities as available
· Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or equivalent experience
· Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
· Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
· Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
· Customer service experience required· A working knowledge of MS Office
· Valid driver’s license required
· Experience working with teenagers and/or in a school environment is preferred.
