Title: Job Developer/Business Services Representative
Classification: Non-Exempt
Scope of Position:
Build business relationships for job placement with local area employers aligned with the St Louis City/SLATE industry sectors. This includes working with the recruitment team to support and assist job seekers and employers.
Essential Functions - Employer Focus:
· Contact employers by phone, referral or in person to schedule face-to-face meetings
· Introduce employers to SLATE Center services and available training programs during initial employer visit
· Develop a network for potential business leads and reconnect employers who no longer utilize services
· Act as an ambassador and concierge to the business community, developing and maintaining relationships with Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development and other business-oriented groups
· Develop and distribute electronic/paper outreach materials in collaboration with SLATE Center partners, according to SLWDB policies
· Generate new and recurring job openings, including those generated by serving the incumbent workforce
· Train employers to use the job order system and explain how to input job orders
· Enter all employer information and employer contacts into appropriate systems and monitor employer activities
· Provide target estimates on goals and periodic progress reports
· Represent EDSI at conferences, meetings and targeted social functions as required
· Meet performance criteria on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
· Post and maintain job orders in the system, enter employer services and open new business folders
· Assist and set up recurrent job fairs
· Attend job fairs, networking events, and community outreach activities.
Essential Functions - Participant Focus:
· Assess job seekers' skills, qualifications, and career goals.
· Match candidates with suitable job openings based on skills and preferences.
· Assist job seekers with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
· Conduct mock interviews and workshops to improve job seekers' employability skills
· Create, generate and submit job orders
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Ability to prioritize tasks and document contacts
· Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills
· Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and job seekers.
· Ability to make presentations to large groups of people
· Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
· Sales or marketing experience required
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
· Driver’s License is required
